UT’s Plastic Recycling Guidelines
Please follow these guidelines to prevent problems with pests, the recycling company, and with state regulations
All items intended for recycling must be empty and clean.
YES RECYCLE!
Plastic Containers #1-7
Plastic bottles #1
Plastic bottles #2
CLEAN food/beverage containers #1-7 like yogurt containers that have been rinsed out
Empty Saline Bottles
Pipet Tip Boxes that have been autoclaved and have autoclave tape showing they’ve been autoclaved
Plastic Cups #1-7
Do NOT Recycle!
Drip Bags, even if empty
Syringe Covers, even if sterile
Plastic Utensils, even if clean
Plastic Wrap, even if clean
Styrofoam, even if marked with #5 or #6
Plastic bags (Unless you have a large bundle of them all bagged together AND they are clean, otherwise they will create problems for machines/sorting)
