The SCAVMA Green Committee was started in the summer of 2007 by two vet students, Kristi Sowers and Gabby Schrader, both in the class of 2009.  They shared a vision of a healthy environment and decided to start at home - the University of Tennessee.  Kristi and Gabby took their ideas to SCAVMA and the faculty and the Green Committee was born.  The committee allows students who are concerned for the environment to come together and promote a healthy environment at UTCVM.  The committee focuses its efforts in encouraging recycling amongst the students and staff, providing resources for green meetings and decreasing waste.  Please let us know if there are any additional projects you would like to work on.
